Okay, enough people have been asking for these notes that my art teacher gave me, and one of those people gave me the intelligent idea of posting them in my journal since I already have them typed up.  So....here you go:



1. Evidence of training in use of perspective.

2. Gesture drawings and/or contour drawings

3. Rendering of basic geometric forms in different spatial positions.

4. Works dealing with positive-negative relationships

5. Psychological space (as in the works of deChirico, Piranesi, Matta)

6. Works in which line and/or tone are used to generate the illusion of three-dimensional forms.

7. Integration of human figure with still life or other background

8. Drawings as social commentary or to express a particular attitude

9. Works involving collage/montage techniques or transfer

10. Works utilizing cubist space, opening and closing space through interpretation of form, shifting planes, etc.

11. Metamorphosis or transformation of an object or shape

12. A series of view of the same subject

13. Automatic drawing (as in the works of Jackson Pollock, Robert Motherwell, and Arshile Gorky)

14. Copies of exemplary works for particular ends

15. A section of an object or objects enlarged to a point of abstraction

16. Cross-contour surface drawings of crused paper, clother, the figure, etc.

17. Studies of wrapped objects

18. Drawings of dreams or private fantasies

19. A study in which as image is divided into modules and reassembled to create a fresh series of relationships

20. Print or monoprint techniques
